Supporting The Community Beyond Finance

Chevening Financial Charity David Hawes-Gatt Charity
Our business works to provide the very highest standards of advice to clients in order that they may create financial health and well- being for themselves, their businesses, their families and future generations.
We pride ourselves on providing our employees with a healthy and supportive culture based on trust and respect. We chose our environmentally friendly office just outside Sevenoaks so that we could work in a sustainable low carbon environment. But we don’t stop there.
We believe we have a duty to support wellbeing in the wider community,
and it is not enough to give a one off donation; we give our time too.

Chevening Financial Sevenoaks
Chevening commit to helping the Kent charity IMAGO every Thursday throughout the year, with a member of the Chevening team collecting pensioners from the local community and taking them to a local supermarket to get their shopping. The pensioners know they have someone to carry their shopping and they really enjoy the chance that they get to chat together en route and in the café over a cup of tea afterwards.
David Hawes-Gatt’s keenness for golf combines with his support for DEBRA; the charity that works for people who have the debilitating condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). David is a member of DEBRA’s appeals committee and was captain of the DEBRA Golf Society in 2014 and 2015, which raised around £275,000 in that time.

Message from Ben Merrett - Chief Executive of DEBRA, January 2016.

"Dear David,
As our fundraising for 2016 gets underway, I would like to thank you personally for your tireless efforts on 2014 and 2015 in the role of Captain of DEBRA Golf Society. DEBRA has benefitted considerably from the contribution of Chevening Financial and yourself, bringing teams to events, introducing new golfers, sourcing prizes and lending your support whenever required.
We raised over £150,000 through our golf events in 2015, another record year for DEBRA golf society, and you have contributed in no small part to that total. DEBRA research, nursing and respite care will all applaud the efforts you have made and your contribution means that EB families across the country can continue to receive the care and support that DEBRA provides and that makes like with EB a little easier.
Many, many thanks and looking forward to another great year in 2016.
Ben Merrett, Chief Executive."
On Friday 17th October 2014 David Hawes-Gatt was very pleased to be invited to join the Countess of Wessex at the Debra Fight Night at the Hilton in Park Lane, hosted by the legendary boxing promoter Frank Warren. David has been a passionate supporter of the Debra charity for many years and has been this years Captain of their golf society, which raised over £125,000 from 14 events in 2014. David and his partner, Clara, were privileged to join the Countess on a ringside table, together with Ben Merrett (Debra CEO), David Spence and Michael Jaega (Trustees) and other key Debra supporters.
Although not a massive boxing fan, David enjoyed the event immensely and was very pleased to see that over £100,000 was raised on the evening.
